PTEM held its academic award ceremony 2012 last Saturday. More or less, this represented a final chapter to many of the students in the fine institution before embarking to the next level.

The event opened with the national anthem sung by the schools Choir team, and followed the recitation of Doa by Selamat by Cg Awang Sahrul Aminan bin Haji Mohiddin.

The Principle, Dayang Chong Li Chen, in her welcoming speech, congratulated the students who attained top marks for the school. Then she introduced several award categories namely students who achieved 280 to 500 tariff points,best students in individual subject, top achievers in GCE AS Level November 2012 and special achievement award. In concluding her speech, she advised the importance of time management for both CCA activities and academic matters.

Following her speech was that from the Guest of Honour Yang Mulia, Awang Haji Ismail Pehin Orang Kaya Pekerma Setia Dato Paduka Hj Hashim, Deputy Permanent Secretary, of the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports. Here Yang Mulia expressed his congratulatory remark for the award recipients in the ceremony. He also stressed the importance of discussion and cooperation between students, teachers, and friends. He further added the importance of CCA activities in an institution like PTEM, the instillation of the MIB philosophy within every students, and finally his high hopes for all PTEM students to become individuals of caliber for the nation, for the society, and for the parent.

The event was then followed by a Dikir Diba’ie performance-a wholly direct initiative by the PTEM themselves-led by Abdul Hafizh bin Abdul Musauwir to add more colour to the event(awesome guys!)

Awards presentation to 70 top achievers in BC-GCE A Level 2012 and to 12 top achievers in GCE ‘AS’ Level November 2012 ensued. 12 students who obtained 2 Distinctions or more in November 2012 BC-GCE AS Level are also honoured.

Also a Special Achievement Award’s recipient which went to Mr. Ethan Kiat–Foong Lai who achieved 3A’s and 1B with tariff point of 460. He contributed a lot to the school by participating in School Choir Team, was also the Captain of School’s Sport House, Indera Mahkota. Was in the Debate Team, in which they managed to obtain first place in 2012. Was the head of Guidance and Counselling in student’s body, Pembimbing Rakan Sebaya 2011/2012.

Muhammad Akhmal Aiman Bin Haji Abd. Majid-who obtained tariff points of 440-gave the Valedictorian speech.Known widely in the institution as the Vice President 1 of PTEM Student Council 2011/2012, he did a lot in promoting the school. In the speech he remarked on the importance of team work, motivators, and friends who can guide oneself to the right path. Finally, his shower of appreciation to the tutors in PTEM who did a great job in educating the students.

Both the school’s choir team, and dance club performed before the event concluded with a photo session with Yang Mulia. Another chapter for PTEM closes today.
