Bandar Seri Begawan (26.01.2012) – Alert Customs officials yesterday foiled a smuggling attempt to bring in cigarettes, beer and chicken wings into the country through the sea.
According to the Royal Customs and Excise Department, the man tried to smuggle the goods into Brunei through the coastal way by boat.

Customs officials seized the boat, which tried to dodge inspection, but the smuggler managed to slip away into the jungle.

A total of 265 cartons of cigarettes of various brands, 129 cans of beer and six kilos of chicken wings were found on the boat.

Customs officials thanked the public for providing the information and urged them to continue to help the department in foiling such smuggling attempts into the country for the safety and welfare of all.
